Issues and Priorities

I am running to get practical work done for District 27B. The goals below reflect what I hear from families, small business owners, teachers, first responders, and seniors. Each section lists the outcome we want, the steps to get there, and how we will measure progress.

Modernize and Streamline Government

Goal
A state government that is easy to use, transparent, and responsive.

How we get there

  • Replace outdated tools with modern systems that track requests from start to finish.
  • Set clear service standards for response and resolution times.
  • Publish dashboards so residents can see what is working and what is not.
  • Reduce duplicate forms and move common processes online with phone support for anyone who needs it.

How we measure it

  • Faster processing times.
  • Fewer repeat calls for the same issue.
  • Public scorecards that show trend lines and targets.

Support Our Teachers and Schools

Goal
Strong classrooms in every town and the staff to run them.

How we get there

  • Increase state support so districts are not forced to cut programs or raise local levies to cover basics.
  • Fund special education commitments so districts are not backfilling with general funds.
  • Expand student mental health services and school counseling.
  • Support career and technical education, apprenticeships, and dual credit options that match real job opportunities.

How we measure it

  • Stable class sizes.
  • Reduced staff turnover.
  • More students earning workforce credentials or college credit before graduation.

Affordable, Accessible Healthcare

Goal
See a doctor when you need to and pay a fair bill.

How we get there

  • Cap out of pocket surprises by enforcing clear, upfront price information.
  • Support rural clinics and critical access hospitals so care remains local.
  • Expand mental health and addiction treatment capacity.
  • Simplify eligibility and enrollment for public programs so families do not lose coverage due to paperwork errors.

How we measure it

  • Lower medical debt across the district.
  • Shorter wait times for appointments.
  • Fewer emergency room visits for conditions that should be handled in primary care.

Public Safety and Trust

Goal
Everyone feels safe and respected in an encounter with law enforcement, and officers have the tools and staffing they need.

How we get there

  • Invest in officer recruitment, training, and wellness.
  • Expand co responder models that pair law enforcement with mental health professionals when appropriate.
  • Use body cameras and clear standards for accountability and review.
  • Support locally designed community policing strategies that focus on prevention.

How we measure it

  • Reduced use of force incidents.
  • Faster response times.
  • Higher satisfaction in community and officer surveys.

A Strong Rural Voice in St. Paul

Goal
Small towns get the attention and investment they deserve.

How we get there

  • Push for fair transportation funding that reflects the roads we maintain and the miles we drive.
  • Expand broadband so every household and business has reliable, affordable service.
  • Support rural childcare, housing, and workforce programs that keep families and employers here.
  • Protect family farms and local businesses from one size fits all rules that ignore rural realities.

How we measure it

  • More completed road and bridge projects on time and on budget.
  • Higher broadband adoption and speed reliability.
  • More childcare slots and workforce housing starts.

  • Keep government out of private life where it does not belong.
  • Ensure public safety while respecting individual liberty.

How we measure it

Goal
A community where personal liberty is real and neighbors still look out for one another.

How we get there

  • Set simple rules that let people live their lives while keeping shared systems running well.
  • Focus on results, not headlines.
  • Encourage service and volunteerism that ties towns together.

Respect and Good Faith Negotiation

Goal
Bring down the temperature and get back to solving problems.

How we get there

  • Listen first.
  • Put facts on the table where everyone can see them.
  • Negotiate in public when possible and keep private talks focused on solutions.
  • Judge ideas by outcomes, not by who proposed them.

How we measure it

  • More bipartisan bills that deliver practical benefits.
  • Fewer last minute stalemates.
  • Real progress voters can see and feel at home.

How I Will Work for You

  • Hold regular listening sessions on a set schedule.
  • Share simple progress updates so you always know what has moved and what still needs work.
  • Answer questions directly and fix what is not working.

If this approach makes sense to you, I would be honored to earn your support.
